why?  because it is stupid.  the title is dumb, most of the posts are dumb and I'm starting a different blog.  it will be similar to this blog but will have some stuff about real guns diy weapons and awesome mods.

nerf sniping; is it a myth?

                                  nerf sniping; is it a myth?
most people would say yes, others say it all depends on the the condition of the dart, and some think barrel length is the deciding factor. Being very interested in sniping, I have done some tests, experiments, and research on what makes nerf guns accurate or inaccurate. What I have found is rather interesting.

Myth #1- nerf sniping is impossible.
This all depends on your definition of sniping; if you think sniping is siting 100 feet away and shooting someone in the head with your longshot, than yeah, nerf sniping is a joke. But when I say sniping, I mean a scenario more like this: you are crouched behind a couch, your opponent is behind two chairs with blankets over them; you see a gap in between the chairs, and your opponent ducked down by the gap. you have two options: shower the hole with darts until you run out of darts and he blocks the hole with a pillow, or snipe him! Take a few discreet shots at the hole (or something else that is at a similar distance) to get your gun sighted in, then load a good dart in your gun, aim and fire! if you had a good dart and you know your gun, you will hit him and win!  It will probably take more than one shot though, so it would be more of a SDM (squad designated marksman) sort of thing.

Myth #2- it all depends on the condition of the dart.
This is the important part, because accuracy does depend on the darts, but it is determined by how the dart is weighted, not how worn the dart is. A worn out dart will be less powerful, but not much less accurate.

Myth #3- barrels increase accuracy.
this is mostly true, but only for some guns, such as the retaliator and deploy (does anyone know about the sharp shot?).  i think the size and type of the plunger may have something to do with it as well.


if nerf gave their darts heavier tips they would be more accurate, but slightly less powerful.  or they could make a great sniper with a airtight breech and barrel, and a flash suppressor, and that would be awesome!
the flash suppressor would stabilize the dart as it left the barrel. It would need a big plunger as well.

nerf darts

I think we can all agree that nerf darts are way to expensive; for me it is the limiting factor for nerf gun fights, because my modded guns pretty much shoot the darts to china, so of course I never see them again. there are some decently priced dart packs, but it is hard to tell them from the cheapo fake darts.                             
Some dart buying tips: do not buy darts on ebay, there are so many fakes that look very realistic; nerf only sells dart refill packs in multiples of 6 (12, 18, 30, etc.), or 75 dart packs. So if you see packs of 50 or 200 they are probably fakes with hard plastic tips. Don't buy them. Amazon.com has packs of 75 real nerf darts for 10 dollars. that's the best I've found. hopefully nerf will lower prices someday, but I doubt that will ever happen.

n-strike elite darts VS zombie strike darts

So my brother just got a zombie strike doublestrike and of course it came with the zombie strike darts, so I wanted to know how they compare with elite darts. So I got some elite darts and the zombie strike darts, went outside and shot them as far as i could, (using the modded firestrike shown above) then ran over to see how far they went, and discovered that they both went the same distance.
I don't know if there is a difference between new and old zombie strike darts. My conclusion is that they are the same darts just a different color.
